îbutze îciyabi (to make yourself thirsty)

  • Heart of the Robbins, 9-100, Robbins Health Learning Centre (MacEwan University) 10910 104 Avenue Northwest Edmonton, AB, T5K 0H7 Canada (map)

Join us for îbutze îciyabi (to make yourself thirsty), the final event in the Interdisciplinary Dialogue Project 2026: Food Matters series. This event brings Indigenous and Muslim perspectives into conversation around fasting—as an intentional practice, a form of care and discipline, and a necessary reality for many.

Together, we will reflect on how fasting connects mind and body, heart and spirit; strengthens community and responsibility; and highlights the interconnectedness of nourishment, belonging, and justice.

The evening concludes with an Iftar supper.

A collaboration with kihêw waciston, IslamicFamily, the Mosquers, and the Muslim Student Organization at MacEwan.
