Outspoken | Stories on Fear & Hate

  • The Green Room (IFSSA) #410, 10310 102 Avenue NW Edmonton, AB, T5J 0Y8 Canada (map)

“Pick up your tongue off the floor. Take it off the shelf. From under the bed. Aim it intentionally at silence and ignorance. Speak.” - Mark Gonzales

The Green Room, in collaboration with AMPAC, invites you to join us for OUTSPOKEN, a monthly storytelling series that explores the intersections of faith, identity, social issues, and well-being.

On Tuesday February 28, join us as we explore the personal stories and narratives of local community members on Fear & Hate. We'll be discussing the recent hate crimes and fear mongering happening in Canada and the US, and specifically looking at the Edmonton landscape.

We'll begin our program by watching a short VICE documentary on the “Soldiers of Odin”, followed by the sharing of stories from community members.

All are welcome to attend!

Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council - AMPAC is an independent and non-profit organization that champions active citizenship, multicultural cooperation and civic engagement in Alberta's Muslim communities.
