Al Hikmah: The Politics of Democracy

  • The Green Room 10310 102 Ave NW #410 Edmonton, AB, T5J 5A2 Canada (map)

What do we do in a time of much political tension, fear mongering, and a ban on minority groups, immigrants and refugees? What does our vote mean? How do we get our voice heard?

The Green Room (IFSSA) & Apathy is Boring invite you to join us for an Al Hikmah on "The Politics of Democracy: A Civic Engagement Workshop." The workshop will look at how we can be active participants in our communites, how we can bring change to the issues we care about, and how we can make our voice and our vote count.

Bring a friend, bring a family member, and bring your questions and your passions!

Al Hikmah is a bi-monthly workshop series that aims to create a safe space for Muslims to discuss issues that affect our well-being. While topics vary, the overarching question discussed is: what does it mean to be a Muslim in a modern, secular democracy?

Apathy Is Boring is a national, non-partisan charitable organization that uses art and technology to educate youth about democracy.
