Cityscape | An Afternoon of Tree Planting

  • Mackinnon River Park (14212 Summit Drive NW) Edmonton Canada (map)

Sun. Soil. Seeds.

The Green Room, in partnership with the City of Edmonton’s Beautification and Greening Initiative Team, invites you to join us for an afternoon of tree planting and an afternoon picnic as part of our Cityscapes Program!

Cityscapes is a monthly outdoor event with an experiential educational component. This month, participants will have the opportunity to get in touch with the city’s natural landscape, help to grow Edmonton’s urban forest, and learn about the current drought and its impact on the province’s agriculture and economy.

Following tree planting, participants will be treated to a barbecue picnic lunch!

Tickets are $10.00/person and covers the cost of supplies and lunch. Families, children and friends are all welcome to join! Registration is required.

Parking is available Government House Park (9938 Groat Road NW). Follow the multi-use trail and Root for Trees signs to reach planting location.

Note: Children under 5 are free!

Transportation from The Green Room to the tree planting site will be available.

The Beloved Prophet (PBUH) said, "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift for him/her."
