Exploring Resilience | Cultivating Community Workshop

  • Boyle Street Community Services 10116- 105 Ave NW Edmonton, AB, T5H 0K2 Canada (map)

Cultivating Community is a workshop around how we can build stronger communities and a resilient city. Hosted at the Boyle Street Community Services the workshop will be a discussion between young community change-makers on our ability to react to high impact events. We will explore examples of issues that arose in Edmonton, and ways in which these events have acted as a catalyst to build stronger communities. The workshop will investigate the role that media, policy, and human relationships have in making or breaking resilience.

Workshop participants will have the ability to assess particular needs for their city, and work towards designing potential future projects and initiatives that could help make Edmonton a thriving place.

All are welcome to join. Registration is required.

Exploring Resilience is a three-part series in partnership with the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights and Project Communitas. The project aims to strengthen individual and community resilience through the development of intercultural and interfaith community-based resilience projects that foster social interdependence, active citizenship, dialogue and youth leadership.
