What is the Leadership Team?

The Leadership Team is a platform for youth (ages 16-24) to cultivate their minds and nurture their hearts towards building a healthy community.

Over the course of a year, team members will develop their leadership skills by exploring the community’s challenges and collectively working to address these issues through various creative mediums.

In 2019, the team will be exploring and addressing the topic of Healthy Relationships. We will be exploring the complex relationships we have with ourselves, our bodies, our families, our community, and our Creator.

Why Should I Join?

  • Connection: to deeply connect to your community and its people

  • Growth: to challenge your thoughts and ideas, and become more socially and personally conscious about issues impacting your community

  • Service: to empower yourself with the tools and skills necessary for serving and building a healthy community

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Building strong relationships with your fellow Leadership Team members through weekly meetings and two one-day retreats (Winter & Summer)

  • Networking with various community leaders and changemakers at our monthly socials

  • Unpacking and deconstructing your thoughts, beliefs and ideas on healthy relationships through reflections and discussions

  • Addressing and tackling the meaning and practice of healthy relationships by participating in and organizing various creative community-based projects

The Leadership Team requires a one-year commitment from January-December. Members meet every week on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at The Green Room. In addition to this, members will also be required to attend two full-day team retreats, as well as take part in various community projects and initiatives.

On average, this amounts to a commitment of about 12 hours per month in total.
